Our Scholarship Program

AMVSS trust extends financial help to needy students of COEP through scholarships. Scholarships are provided to cover the tuition fees, hostel fees, mess expenses and in some exceptional cases miscellaneous expenses. So far more than 40 students have benefited from these scholarships.
Every year, AMVSS invites applications from deserving students and then student selection committee awards the scholarships through a documented selection process. Once a student is awarded scholarship, he / she continues to get the support till final year provided he / she clears all subjects of the year and his/ her financial status continues to remain same. As such, more than 100 aid events are recorded till date for these 40 students over these years.
Since 2016, AMVSS have also started supporting the students preparing for civil services exams.
Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded under the following heads
Maximum Expenditure per Student -> Rs. 65,000 per year (this is reviewed and revised every year based on college fee structure)
  • College fees : Rs. 65,000 for Open Category, varies under different concessions for a particular student.
  • Hostel Charges : Appx. Rs. 2,000/- per month.
  • Mess Charges : Appx. Rs. 2,500/- per month.
  • Stationary: Appx. Rs. 2,500/- per year.
  • (we have a tie-up with Venus Stores, FC Road for this purpose)
  • Miscellaneous expenses in exceptional cases only.

Process

Following process is followed for selection of students for the scholarships/financial aid
  • Student submits an online registration form at http://amvss.co.in/beneficiary-registeration/
  • Student receives an email with Application form and supporting documents
  • Student takes a print of the application form, fills it and submits it to the office of Dean for Student Affairs
  • Along with the form, the student should submit the following documents
    • IT Returns of Parents OR Income Certificate (only in absence of IT returns of parents). Format will be attached in the email.
    • Self attested copies of PAN card of two references whose names have been mentioned in the application form.
    • Self attested copies of mark lists for SSC / HSC / Diploma / Degree year wise examinations
  • Screening and Interview Invite
    • The application will be screened by the trust panel members and eligible students will be informed about the date for personal interview
  • Personal Interview
    • The panel members would interview the applicants to evaluate the nature of financial assistance required and the background of the student
    • For attending the interview, the student must carry his/her original marksheets
  • Background Verification
    • For candidates shortlisted by the interview panel, the trust carries out a background verification procedure that may involve checking out the references and documents submitted by the applicant.
    • This process may take ten to fifteen days of time
  • Disbursement of Aid
    • The selected students shall be communicated about grant of assistance and the Dean of Students Affairs will also be informed about the list of students
    • Cheque(s) shall be issued in the name of beneficiaries.
    • It may be noted that if aid is granted for college fees or hostel fees etc, the cheque shall be issued in the name of the respective authority and not in the name of the student
